First, I'm with Craig, but you knew that already. Go wiggle your toes in the sand for me?
Second, Where is Miami Ink?
I'm so happy to hear that Dr. Fernadez will be returning to the shores. We need a doctor like her in our community. Thanks for the info Ines.
Hi Liz - thanks so much for visiting our blog and for commenting. Dr. Fernandez is fabulous and I am also very exited to have her in our community. I will travel to Hollywood to see her in the meantime, it's not a bad drive and it won't be long until she can relocate.
Ines
Andrew - that's exactly what I need to hear, suggestions from Miami Shores residents. You can definitely count on seeing articles about the parks, the concert series and especially the new businesses. Thanks for visiting our blog and feel free to add your 2 cents anytime!
Ines
Hi guys,
I followed your advise and called Miami Shores Pediatrics (Dr. Laura Fernandez-Ortiz office) and was told that she's not returning to the Shores until 2 years from now :(
So, I decided to take a drive over there and the traffic was horrendous!!!! I can't imagine myself driving from the Shores to Hollywood, in the middle of the day with a sick child.
Oh well that's too bad. I guess I have to look from a doctor closer to the shores. Do you have any other recommendations?
Miriam
Miriam - that's too bad! I think it's either 18 or 22 months before she moves back to The Shores (it's a non-compete agreement thing). But I tell you that I have 3 kids and one of them is 2 with constant ear infections and I didn't think the drive was that bad. I am definitely going to wait for her because I know what the other choices are for pediatricians. She is a Shores resident, her kids go to St. Rose, she is very involved and responds quickly to emergencies. But good luck finding a pediatrician and thanks for visiting our post.
Ana Maria - I am so glad Google guided you here and that you commented too. I do remember the dark blue squad cars and have no idea why they did away with those, I thought they looked great. We do have the best and most efficient police force around and their response time is fabulous. I will ask some of the police officers about the color and why they changed.
Just wanted to let everyone know Shores Pediatrics (Dr. Laura Fernandez-Ortiz) is moving back to the shores on February 2, 2009. I've been driving to Hollywood with my 2-year old to see her, because I feel it's worth it.
I googled "Shores Pediatrics" and this blog came up, so decided to make the Miami Shores Community aware of Dr. Laura's soon to come move.
Thanks.
Priscilla
Priscilla,
Thanks so much for coming by - I spoke to Dr. Laura today and will do a post at miamism.com about her move to Miami Shores. Can't wait!
The drive has definitely been worth it!
