2007 Miami Beach Arts Festival

The Miami Beach Arts Festival

The Miami Beach Arts Festival 2007 is happening right now and it's sponsored by none other than Coldwell Banker - February 10th and 11th at Ocean Terrace, between 73rd and 75th Street.

The Arts Festival is packed with booths where artists from all over showcase their talent.  From painting, to sculpture, ceramics, photography and even jewelry.  There's also great food, a great atmosphere and we could not have asked for better weather.

Coldwell Banker's booth was full of great give-aways from balloons to backpacks to even RICK AND INES soft, stretchable Frisbees for the kids.  Here you can see Rick in action.

Here are some more photographs of the event, depicting the people, artists as well as Miami Beach.

We had such a great time today and it doesn't hurt that the festival was filled with talented artists.  If you missed it today, you can still see it tomorrow.

Very nicely done great pictures. Seems that there are a lot of activities for you folks down there. Probably not as much in the summertime I bet, too hot and humid.

Ines, I did wonder about that, but had to ask anyway. Hey, how about writing a blog of tips on how to do a show like this successfully? What works? What doesn't work? Why do them? Etc.......

Dena - do you mean how to do an ARTS FESTIVAL?  or do you mean how to approach your own strategy in a show like this?

Ines, can you give some helpful hints in doing a show like this? Can you prepare us (me) to go do a public show of any kind?

Dena - to keep it as simple as possible, my advice to you is to go with a clear and positive mind.  Giveaways are always a good idea.  Today we had a great basket displayed which was going to be raffled off - to be included in the raffle, all you needed to do was fill out a short informational sheet with address, phone number and e-mail.  Rick and I had our own brochures, magnets and frisbees.  In public shows, people like to stop by if they are getting something for free.  Agents were scheduled in short increments of 2 hours each in order to represent our business in a refreshed way (being overtired is not a good image to portray).   The event was sponsored by Coldwell Banker and they had a booth set up in the middle of the Arts Festival with high visibility.  Let me know if this helps.

Ann - it was fun and there were some great booths.  They had corn dogs, salads, corn on the cob, popcorn, and a gourmet stand that looked delicious.

HI Ines. I used to go to this even all the time.. I kinda miss it.. use to be into art and get insrpiration from it. there are some really talented people out there.  you did a great coverage of the event, from the entrance (palette) to the booths. I think that someone that has never been will get the vibe from the event. you're like a new reporter over there!!  :) take care. saludos

Hi Laurie - not only is it a great way to spend the afternoon, but I expose my kids to different type of art that you would not see in a gallery - and the setting is great!

Mariana - thanks - you should have seen the color of the sky - it was breathtaking!  This is a shot towards the ocean that I took yesterday from the art show.  There was not one single cloud in the sky.
