Super Bowl XLI will take place in Miami on Sunday, February 4, 2007 in Dolphin Stadium. This will be the 9th time in Miami (4th time at the Dolphin's Stadium and the other 5 at the Orange Bowl).
The Super Bowl is known for so many things.... the incredible commercials, the halftime shows (which by the way will be Prince this year), the beautiful Vince Lombardi Super Bowl trophy, designed by Tiffany & Co.,
and of course the actual game. I personally had never known the impact this one game has on the host city. Miami is a madhouse right now. People are renting places at extravagant prices, coming from all over the nation. Did you know that there are rental agents that specialize in the Superbowl?
The Super Bowl also has a Community Outreach program which brings much more than football to the Miami area. There will be more than 50 charitable activities and community outreach programs designed to enrich and assist the community. The NFL works with each host community to develop programs with local organizations which focus on youth outreach, health and wellness, and other community rebuilding projects.
The SB memories are priceless - remember when Janet Jackson mistakenly flashed a body part during a past SB? Our son Diego was 6 years old at the time and was watching in a 52" big screen TV. After Janet's performance he turned to us and said, very matter of fact, "Mom, was that her boob?"....I will never forget that.
So mark your calendars, block off the day, plan your Super Bowl party and we will promise to be gracious hosts here in Miami and will make your visit (whether in person or by satellite) a very pleasant one.

I know the Dallas Cowboys will be there! Watching the game from the grandstands. If you are sitting around Tony Romo watch out his drink and hot dog might slip out of his hand.

Fun post, Ines!!! I've no doubt the PATRIOTS will be there!! GO PATS!!!
Ann
Nice blog Ines, We'll be rooting for the Patriots and this Sunday's game will be a big test but the Pats will prevail.
Go Pats!!!!
Blanca - that's what I like to hear...a Pacifico beer in my name! What is a "pacifico beer"?
Eric - who cares who makes it? It's about everything that comes with it! But if you want the Saints, I hope they make it too.
Rick - are you really going to be here....if you are.....I hope you already have Hotel reservations.
Rich - you better believe I'm going to TiVo (for commercial reasons) :)
Ann and Jay are going for the PATRIOTS....why is that?...Is Monika a Patriot's fan as well?
MF - That's exactly what you see here....everyone is exited about it...especially no-football fans.
Cynthia - you slipped in there when I was commenting - good luck to the colts! Miami is 80 degrees today and Sunny.
I feel like a politician, not taking sides.....WHAT IS THAT?
Ines, Pacifico Beer is one of the fines Beers in Mexico. Corona Beer is nothing compared with Pacifico. I can't believe you have never had one my friend! Unless of course you don't drink which it would explain why you don't know it ; )
Thanks for explaining Blanca - I actually don't drink beer, but I'll ask Rick about it, he probably knows. ( I know of Modelo, dox equis and corona)....here it is for those reading this blog:
Dena - anytime I write about sports, I know I can count on a couple of guys to come in here....Eric is one of them.
You guys can go at each other....I'll stay neutral....and will watch the commercials!
Ines.... I look forward to the commercials as much as the game, unless my team is in it... the Eagles.
You are correct about the charities during the Super Bowl...and yes, the impact is so huge, many people don't understand. I remember when Philly hosted the All Star game for baseball one year. That was huge.. but the Super Bowl...the biggest out there. One thing that isn't fair is that it's held down South or in dome stadiums. I understand why, but so many good cites loose out on the chance.
Overall.... love those commercials. Me? I think Indy and New Orleans will be in it. Sorry Pats fans.... but Manning takes over Brady today. I will say this, I think Brady is one of the top 2 QB's when it comes to the 2 minute drill and needing that score. Manning is up there. But I think the Colts Defense is a little better than last year and they are playing much better in the last few weeks. It will be the better game today.
Bear fans...sorry, but they don't have me sold yet. Great defense, but can be scored on lately.... offense? Not as good as the Saints...
Super Bowl...again, Indy vs New Orleans... winner... Indy and Manning and Dungy....
Hey Jeff - you go ahead and be roudy! That's what I like to see in a football blog!
Blanca - I think Jeff is just bluffing - he doesn't know what he's talking about!
Hi Ines....My boys will be there and Tom he is so cute!!! GO PATS!!!!
Ines...
I am not a big fan of football nowadays. I loved the post though.
Especially the part about Janet's Boob. That cracked me up. Kids. Ya gotta love 'em :)
Monika - Jay didn't mention anything about your boys - who is TOM?
TLW - don't worry....I'm more into College Football - but love the commercials and talk about what the Super Bowl does to host cities! I showed Diego the post and he was cracking up, he remembered the moment like it was yesterday.
(I do not watch football. Does that make me a bad person?) :o)
DO you think that it being in Miami will draw more relo's to your neck of the woods? Football fans saying, "Dang! It is cold here in <enter cold state here>. Lets move to Miami!" ? Maybe? If I get one of those sellers - I will send them to YourPropertyPros ...:)
Too bad for the Saints... I would be rooting for them if only they weren't up against the beloved Bears tomorrow.... Go Bears!
George - I was wondering when you would make it here!
Mariana - thanks - I think that MAY happen - the weather here in February is usually spectacular. Thanks for already sending me imaginary referrals and you know I would certainly take care of you. (things like this don't need to be said, but just in case)
COW MASTER makes a visit to the Superbowl XLI post and tries to make a point.....GO BEARS!
Cheers Blanca - I will tell him.
SALUD!
Yeah - Gary but there's no gloating allowed - Miami will still be ROCKING!
Rick & Ines,
Thanks for the post! I am a transplant from Indiana and have been a die hard Colts fan for years. It's so great to see them finally rmake it to the big dance! I've even comtemplated a trip down to Miami and crashing a tailgate party....I have never tailgated so it might be an interesting experience
Any other Colts fans and AR's who might be interested in such and event......no doubt we wouldn't be at a loss for things to talk about and share......any tailgaters here?
Rick & Ines,
I expect a full report of the Superbowl when it happens. It is going on right there in your backyard, so have the camera ready and share with us. Thanks for this post... I will feature this week to keep it at the top of the list.
Ron - I'm not a Colts fan nor a tailgater....but if you get a group together, let me know. We'll make it a point to join you....since we are local and all.
Jason - thanks for the feature - I will definitely have that camera handy.
